Frequently Asked Questions We've Had About Piercings!

Do Piercings Hurt?  Yes, Some More than Others.
Can I swim with my new piercing?    You shouldn’t swim, wait a week.  But if you can’t wait, swim in fresh clean running water only, for a short time.  Avoid chlorine, the salty ocean.
What do I do when my piercing hurts?   Deal with it. Wash it & take care of it, and don’t play with it.
What’s the white gooey stuff coming out of my Piercing?
It’s often normal during healing, sometimes called 'Lymph', a fluid which leaks out of lymphoid tissue around the Jewelry.  If theres an abudunace of this or when you squeeze your Piercing, this comes out, then your not taking proper care of it and you need to clean it better or more often.
Why would it be infected?   People’s hands are dirtier than they think, and the most often reason why Piercings get infected. Wash them every time before touching it.  Clean it. Shower every day.
What do I do if I think it’s infected?   Clean it better!  Most people go to alcohol or peroxide, don’t use those!  Use anti-bacterial soap or if you need something softer, use saline solution, or sea salt solution. If it’s bruised and/or swollen for days, seeping a yellow, brown or green, “ooze”  then, yep it’s probably infected.  Don’t Panic, it happens to a lot of people.  Sometimes, removing the Jewelry might be worse than leaving it in, letting the holes sea and trapping the infection inside.  Leaving in the jewelry will give it a route out, and a route to be cleaned by.  Consult your Artist with any questions, and he will provide you with information and if need be, the proper forms to resolve the situation.  Most complications can be healed up with some time and better care.
